To understand why the Pacific Garbage Patch is growing by the day, we have to come to terms with the fact that the fabric of our lives is woven with plastic. Think you could go a week without plastic? Good luck getting past breakfast.

Are you still blogging? Came across your site and am interested in your project because it also intersects with what I’m doing. I’m working with plastics and other artificial materials that wind up in the Ohio River watershed. I’m sure that stuff that originated in the nation’s heartland washes into the rivers and eventually makes it out to sea. Are there any updates on what you are attempting?

Hi there -
After a few months of struggling to find funding, it looks like we’re up and running again as of last week! As it stands the project will be underway as of mid-September… So yes, I will be updating the blog much more regularly.
At any rate, please send me details about what you’re up to – definitely interested as most of the news and info I get is very west coast-centric.
Thanks!
